Privacy Policy
Divent helps people in the United States discover class-action and consumer settlements, refunds, and state energy rebate programs that may apply to them. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Divent mobile app, our website, and related services (together, the “Service”).
This policy is written for consumers and App Store distribution. It is not a formal legal opinion. If you have questions, contact us at the address below.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in these categories:
Account and identity
- Email address, display name, and credentials when you create an account with email and password.
- Information from Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In (for example name, email, and a provider user identifier), depending on what you authorize and what the provider returns.
- Optional profile fields such as ZIP code and U.S. state of residence.
Onboarding and matching answers
- Survey and profile answers you provide so we can match settlements and rebate programs (for example products, banks, services, or utilities you have used, and where you live).
- Preferences you set in the app (for example notification toggles, Money Watch selections, and plan selection state).
Claim activity
- Claim metadata you create or update in Divent (for example which opportunity you opened, filing status you track, notes, and progress steps).
- Information you enter to complete a guided claim step. Some settlement administrators ask for sensitive verification fields (for example partial SSN digits). Our product design is to use those fields only to complete the relevant filing step and not to keep them as standing profile data when storage is not required.
Purchases and subscriptions
- Subscription and purchase status managed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system and RevenueCat (entitlement status, product identifiers, and related transaction metadata). We do not receive your full payment card number; Apple processes payment.
Device, push, and diagnostics
- Push notification tokens and related device identifiers needed to deliver optional alerts (for example deadline reminders), typically via Apple Push Notification service and Expo push infrastructure.
- Basic technical and diagnostic data such as app version, device/OS type, crash and performance signals, and IP address as processed by our hosting and API logs.
Website
- Standard server logs when you visit divent.app (for example IP address, user agent, and pages requested). We do not use the marketing site to run advertising trackers as a core product feature.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Operate the Service and authenticate your account.
- Personalize settlement and rebate matches and show payout estimates and claim guidance.
- Help you file, track, and revisit claim opportunities you choose.
- Send optional push notifications and digests you enable.
- Process and restore subscriptions and entitlements.
- Secure the Service, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the Service.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not take a percentage or “cut” of settlement or rebate recoveries you receive from administrators or agencies.
3. How we share information
We share information with service providers and platforms that help us run Divent, only as needed for those purposes:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions / In-App Purchase, and Apple Push Notification service.
- Google — Google Sign-In when you choose that sign-in method.
- RevenueCat — subscription entitlement and purchase status syncing with the App Store.
- Expo / push infrastructure — delivery of push notifications using your device push token.
- Hosting and API infrastructure — servers that store account, matching, and claim data for api.divent.app and related systems.
- Settlement / rebate administrators and program sites — only when you choose to proceed with a claim or open an external filing flow; those third parties have their own privacy practices.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Divent, our users, or the public. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy’s commitments where applicable.
4. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including to provide the Service, maintain your account and claim history, meet legal or accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it in the ordinary course of operations, subject to backup and log retention windows.
You may request deletion of your account data by contacting support@divent.app. Some records may remain where we must retain them for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or subscription/transaction records processed by Apple.
5. Your choices and rights
- Update profile and survey answers in the app where those screens are available.
- Turn notifications on or off in Divent and in your device settings.
- Cancel a subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings (managed by Apple).
- Request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you by emailing support@divent.app.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. See the California section below.
6. California / CCPA-style disclosures
If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We do not sell personal information for money. We also do not knowingly “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as a Divent product practice.
Categories of personal information we collect are described in Section 1 (identifiers, account and contact data, survey/profile inferences used for matching, commercial subscription status, internet/device activity, and claim activity). We use them for the business purposes in Section 2 and share them with service providers as in Section 3.
To exercise California privacy rights, email support@divent.app with the subject “California Privacy Request.” We will verify your request in a manner appropriate to the sensitivity of the request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
7. Children
Divent is intended for adults in the United States. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information (for example encrypted transport to our API and access controls on production systems). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International users
Divent is built for U.S. consumers. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may also provide additional notice in the app or by email when appropriate.
